  Do you know any books written by Jehovah's Witnesses?

  don't seam to find it anymore.

  Watch How We Walk by Jennifer Lovegrove 2013
  

  This book made it to the long list for the 2014 Giller Prize for Literature here in Canada.

  I got it from our local library last fall and enjoyed the read.

  Everything that happened within this JW family, happened to my family -everything.
  

  I made sure to tell the librarian that it is a very accurate depiction of the private pressures, that being JW thrusts upon ordinary families and that the end is sadly too realistic.

  I would surmise that if WT operates in Mexico as a cultural entity that this would be their best opportunity to get a double-edged return on investment. Cultural education that is inseparable from WT authority, and a new souce of converts who come preprogrammed by the linguistic afinity.

  Canadian Aboriginals are likely targeted in the same fashion. Unbelievably, the Revenue Canada Agency grants tax free status to the cult, partly on its claim to be an educational entity, irrespective of its views of higher education. Canad being what it is, there is likely money flowing to WT to do cultural work there as well.

  Canadian aboriginals hopefully will equate Bethel et al on a par with residential schools and not get sucked in again by white guys with a bunch of ''bible based '' baloney.

  It was Watchtowers journalistic dishonesty that was my first clue that they really didn't value factual truth.

  At a district convention (organized by WT) one brother from each attending congregation was given a ''press release'' to take back to local newspapers in their espective teritories, to garner free local PR.

  It was just a printed infomercial for the cult extolling the numbers in attendance. It was made to appear as an interview including a longwinded quote - to which we brothers were supposed to fill in our own names as the source of the quote!

  They not only orchestrated this deception but expected to foist it off on unsuspecting local newspapers.

  He knows something is wrong when the doctor enters, staring at his test results and looking shocked.

  ''Give it to me straight doc, how long have I got ?'' the man pleads.

  The doctor replies slowly ''You've got six ..''

  ''Six ?'' the guy screams '' six what, six weeks, six months ?''

  Catholic Schools provide excellent education - couldn't have JW kids exposed to that could we?

  Half of my grandkids prefered our local Catholic high school over the public one as it is a wonderful school and they did very well too - smart, socially active, well adjusted kids who went straight on to university and well paying jobs. The JW grandkids are a socially retarded pioneer and a very angry rehab patient respectively - keep up the good work Watchtower.

  You observed the same as I, that such actions are merely childish vendetta. It is actually important that Watchtower officially requires nothing from those abandoning a religion when joining theirs. It logically follows that persons abandoning the Watchtower cult, likewise, owe them no explanations, reasons or justifications of their freewill actions.

  Don't involve these self-righteous assholes in your decision to leave - just make your demands known in harmony with your available human rights and enjoy your freedom.

  i'm preparing for my exit after 4 years of de-programming myself from the cult (much help from here..thank you) been fading for as long as i can to keep decades of family and friends, but the moment the "real truth" is arriving soon.. i desire to make an intelligent defense for my actions and of course will never get to first base using any resource material that will shut down the process by my blind brothers and family members.. i have collected some resources on my own, but would appreciate help in the following.. 1) child abuse.

  3) follow the money any public records of what the borg spends or invest our money on.

  this is from a blog, "news from me" that i read fairly regularly.

  mark evanier is, among other things, a comic book writer (co-writer for "groo-the wanderer), a television writer, a great raconteur, and was a close person friend of jack kirby, one of the world's greatest comic book artists.he got an email from a jw trying to explain why they come to his door.evanier's answer is well thought out, and should explain to even the densest j-dub why people really don't like being bothered.

  maybe his correspondent will take it to heart, but probably not.

  Was any reference from cult publications ever shown as to why this might be necessary? or just JW puffery?
